i guess being raised by a woman who didn´t believe in herself enough and gave up on her dreams to be a mother makes the fig tree analogy a big part of me, it truly means the world.
i resent that "mother" is never simply a title or a relationship, but a life path all its own. you can only be that one thing at the loss of all other dreams. thankfully, reading reminds us that we have options outside of what mainstream society tells us.
